Which Captains should I hire and why?
Captains are unique warriors who lead marches on monsters, as well as to crypts and resource-gathering points on the World Map. The Leadership, Authority, Dominance, and Might stats of Captains are lower than your Hero's. They also have three equipment slots instead of six.
You need Captains in order to progress in the game and advance your development.
There are more ways to level up Captains than Heroes:
- By attacking a monster squad (except for rare and heroic ones).
- By attacking other players.
- By exploring Crypts — the higher the level of the Crypt, the more experience you gain.
- By using special experience chests that can be purchased as part of time-limited offers.
The most efficient way is to attack monster squads and other players.
There are 26 unique Captains in the game:
Cleopatra - Strength of your entire army
Ramses II - Health of your entire army
Minamoto - Strength and health of your ranged troops
Wu Zetian - Strength and health of your flying troops
Leonidas - Strength and health of your melee troops
Alexander - Strength and health of your mounted troops
Hercules - Strength and health of your army against epic monsters
Brunhild - Strength and health of your flying troops
Amanitore - Strength and health of your army in group marches, raids, and reinforcements
Carter - Crypt exploration efficiency and tar capacity
Aydae - Strength and health of your guardsmen
Logos - Strength and health of your specialists
Tengel - March speed and march range
Proscope - Strength and health of your scouts
Doria - Valor points bonus
Stror - Resource gathering speed and army carrying capacity
Dustan - Conquest points bonus
Ingrid - Strength and health of your monsters
Brann - Strength and health of your engineer corps troops
Ye Ho-Sung - Strength and health of your melee troops
Bernard - Strength and health of your ranged troops
Lucius - Strength and health of your mounted troops
Xi Guiying - Strength of your ranged troops and strength of your scouts
Sofia - Health of your entire army
Farhad - Research speed
Aurora - Construction speed
Beowulf - Health and strength of your entire army
Skadi - Health and strength of your guardsmen
Heimdall - Strength of your entire army
Helen - Food production speed and troop training speed
You can obtain more Captains by summoning them in the Summoning Circle or purchasing offers in the Triumphal Challenge shop.
Tip.
The level cap for Captains is 600. Please note, however, that Doria's, and Carter's bonuses will stop increasing after level 300.
