What is the Prime Arena?
A seven-day tournament of army-against-army battles with other players. You’ll also see the name Colosseum in the game. That’s the arena where the battles take place.
The prime arena groups players of similar strength in a division. It’s set by the highest troop level among your Guardsmen, Specialists and Monsters, and it stays the same until the tournament ends, even if you unlock stronger troops meanwhile. It also decides how many ranking rewards there are and how good the rewards are.
Getting ready
You have two saved squads in Prime Arena:
Defense: fights for you whenever other players challenge you, even while you’re offline.
Attack: goes out only when you challenge someone yourself.
You can use any unit up to your highest troop level, except scouts, siege units and mercenaries. The troops don’t need to be in your City, and squads stay saved between tournaments until you change them.
Do artifacts, equipment and bonuses work like in my City?
Mostly, with two differences:
Separate setup. What you equip here doesn’t change your Captains’ gear in your City.
Shared setup. Attack and defense use the same artifacts and equipment: what a Captain wear to attack, they wear to defend.
Which bonuses count:

Who can I challenge?
The Challenge window lists five opponents with their Army Power, a rough guide to how strong their defense squad is. Pick one, set your attack squad and fight. Attacks and list refreshes are limited per day, and your attacks come back at the daily reset. A refresh gives you new opponents, and the list also updates when your points change.
How does a battle work?
Battles cost nothing: no casualties to heal, no broken equipment, nothing leaves your City.
A match has two rounds between the same armies. The attacker strikes first in round 1, and the defender strikes first in round 2.
Win both: you win the match.
Lose both: you lose it.
One each: the player with the higher share of surviving troops wins. If it’s exactly equal, it’s a draw.
The result arrives as one report in your Battle Logs, which are cleared when the next tournament starts.
Points and ranking
Everyone starts each tournament with the same number of points. Win and you gain points. Lose and you lose them, including when you’re beaten as the defender while offline. The further your opponent is from you in the ranking, the more is at stake: beating a higher-ranked player earns more, and losing to a lower-ranked player costs more. Points can’t drop below zero. If two players are tied, whoever reached the score first ranks higher.
Frequently asked questions
1. Why did I lose points while I was offline?
Other players can challenge your defense squad at any time. It fights for you under the same rules, and a defeat costs points even when you’re offline. Your ranking depends on your defense as well as your attacks, so save a strong defense squad before you log off.
2. Why does my squad feel weaker than in my City?
Prime Arena uses its own equipment setup, so check what your Captains wear here. Only permanent bonuses count. Speedups, titles and Clan, Kingdom and Hero bonuses don’t apply.
3. Why didn’t I get a ranking reward?
Rewards go only to prize places (the number depends on your division), and you must have fought at least one battle. If players are tied on points, the one who reached the score first ranks higher, which can decide who lands in a prize place.
4. What happens when the tournament ends?
It’s a fresh start. Colosseum Points reset to the same starting value, Scrolls don’t carry over, Store stock and limits reset, and Battle Logs are cleared. Your Coins and saved squads carry over.
